InnerLoc Broadheads

InnerLoc Review - Stacy OgleŠ April 2007

This past hunting season Innerloc Broadheads sent us some of their heads to try out. When we received them, the first thing I noticed was their unique locking design. The heads they sent were the 100 grain three blade design with a 1 1/8 cutting diameter. Each blade has a raised L shape that slides into the ferrule. With all three blades installed into the ferrule the tip that is threaded actually screws all the way into the base of the ferrule. The shaft that is part of the tip is also tapered so when installed it actually aligns and sets the blades perfect every time as you tighten the tip which make these blades extremely strong and dead accurate.

After getting the heads together I installed them on Gold Tip 55/75 shafts cut at 29-inches. The bow used was a Mathews Switchback XT set at 60-lbs. My first shot was from 25-yards using a broadhead target with a bag target behind it for back up. I was quite surprised when the broadheads hit right where my field points did. I shot all six heads at this distance with the same results. Quite impressive! Even more impressive was the penetration these heads were getting. As I retrieved each arrow, all six of them had went so far through that the fletching were halfway through the broadhead target and the heads were sticking out the back of the bag target about eight inches.

So I decided to try them at the 50-yard mark since I would be heading out west where this is a common distance. Again all six arrows hit their mark with extreme accuracy and the penetration was still great with only the fletching sticking out of the target. This is definitely one of the most accurate and best penetrating fixed blade broadhead I have ever shot to date.

I also noticed the machining on the overall product was perfect and seemed to fit much better than other broadheds that I have used in the past. There was definitely a lot of time and effort put into their product line. INNERLOC also offers four blade designs and mechanicals as well which I plan to review in the near future. One thing is for sure I can recommend these heads for anyone looking for a high quality accurate and extremely durable broadhead. Their design in my opinion is the best I have seen in a fixed blade design.
