Successful Junior Ranger Day!

Van Buren, Missouri - Ozark National Scenic Riverways commemorated National Park Week April 26, 2008, by hosting a Junior Ranger Day Event at Big Spring.  The Junior Ranger motto is “Explore, Learn, Protect.”  Children from ages four to eight did just that as they enjoyed a nature-walk, law-enforcement activities and much more all lead by National Park Service Staff.  The children received their Junior Ranger badges and pledged to learn more about their park and Ozark’s natural and cultural heritage.

Ozark National Scenic Riverways preserves the free-flowing Current and Jacks Fork Rivers, the surrounding natural resources, and the unique cultural heritage of the Ozark people.  For more information visit, www.nps.gov/ozar
